Business Career Pathway

Accounting and business administration degrees prepare students for careers in management, marketing, economics, and the free enterprise system. Supply chain management and logistics positions await students who possess skills in the international and domestic movement of goods. Students can also take part in the fields of culinary arts, paralegal, and cosmetology.

The following are the available programs of study related to the Business Career Pathway:

Transfer Degrees

Learn to prepare financial statements and income tax returns, process payroll and accounts payable/receivable, or perform other routine accounting functions. Or you can transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor's degree.

You will learn to support and manage a company's employees. Coursework includes employment law, managing employees, recruiting and hiring, writing job descriptions, determining pay rates and bonus programs, designing benefits programs, and training employees.

In this career, you will learn about patient registration, patient check-in and check-out, clerical support, customer service, medical terminology, medical insurance, and electronic health records for doctors' offices, clinics, hospitals, or other healthcare businesses.

Medical receptionists greet patients as they enter a doctor's office, clinic, or hospital. They also provide clerical support to the admitting staff, answer telephone calls, and direct callers and patients to the appropriate department or unit.
