Certified Production Technician
The Certified Production Technician (CPT)® 4.0 program consists of a series of training modules designed to not only prepare students to be productive team members in a manufacturing environment but also to earn the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC)® Certified Production Technician (CPT)® 4.0 credential. The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC)® credentialing system leading to a CPT® 4.0 covers the four critical production functions common to all sectors of manufacturing: Safety, Quality Practices & Measurement, Manufacturing Processes & Production, and Maintenance Awareness. Each area is addressed with a separate assessment.
This program is ideal for those with limited or no prior knowledge of manufacturing to begin a career pathway in the high-demand manufacturing industry.

The course registration fee is $865.
The total cost is $865 and includes the course registration fee, MSSC registration, curriculum, and assessments. (MSSC fees are non-refundable after class starts).
Payment is due at the time of registration.

MSSC recommends that students should be at the ninth-grade level of math and 10th-grade level of English before attempting MSSC courses and assessments.

In person: Complete the Continuing Education Registration Form and bring it with your payment (check, cash, credit card, or money order) to one of the GTCC Campuses:
- Jamestown: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday at Medlin Campus Center, 601 E. Main St.
- Greensboro: 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-noon Friday at 3505 E. Wendover Ave., Continuing Education Center
- High Point: 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-noon Friday at 901 S. Main St., H1
Students who successfully complete the Certified Production Technician class will receive an Award of Completion.
Requirements for successful completion:
- Attendance: Must be in class 90% of class hours.
- Coursework: Must achieve 80% on coursework.
If you enter after the second day of class, you will not receive credit for taking the class. Additionally, time absent will be counted against you. Students can only miss 16 hours of the total class time to pass the class.
The college will make a 100% refund of registration fees if you officially withdraw from class before the first meeting. Also, if the class is canceled or full, GTCC will make a full refund. The college will refund 75% of the registration fee (of tuition only) if you officially withdraw from the class on the first day of class or before the class reaches the census date. The census date varies from class to class. Non-attendance is not a basis for a refund.
