GTCC Student Ambassadors

2023-2024 Academic Year

The GTCC Foundation is proud to provide annual program support for student ambassadors. The GTCC Student Ambassador Program gives GTCC students the opportunity to serve as representatives at institutional functions as well as recruitment, student, civic and cultural activities. It also serves as a leadership program for student ambassadors to develop personal, organizational and institutional leadership skills.

"I knew IB wasn't what was going to get me to succeed, and knew I needed something, and GTCC was the better alternative. I was able to take high school classes at Page while working on my degrees at the same time. I was able to meet some great people and learn about many different things about both myself and the world around me. Being at GTCC has helped me grow into a better person who's more willing to get to know others better."

"GTCC has mainly provided me with the experience of studying in another country. Experiencing another culture and learning about the field I am interested in has been amazing. I have met amazing people that have shared their wisdom with me. People that have given me very valuable advice on how to keep going and achieve success, not only as a professional but as a person. And now, the school is giving me the opportunity to be a student ambassador."

"I have not only been fortunate to begin working through the GAP program at GTCC, but I have also met friends, roommates, mentors, and peers that I have created significant bonds with. My major and work are helping me grow as a future HVAC technician. The connections I have made are playing a crucial role in my development as a leader and a good person."

"I picked GTCC because it allowed me to stay close to home and my family. It also was an affordable way to continue my education in small class settings. GTCC has allowed me to save money on tuition, supplies and housing. GTCC has also allowed me to use their flexible class schedules to better fit my lifestyle outside of school, like my current job as a financial advisor assistant."

"Professionally, GTCC has led me to many opportunities that will help me when I try to enter the workforce. Most of the things that I have done at school will look very impressive on a future resume, and I hope that it will allow me better chances at gaining jobs. I have also learned about working with others. GTCC has shown itself to be a very safe campus. The library has excellent books and helpers, the computers and printing services are wonderful, and tutoring has been a lifesaver. The faculty and staff are friendly, helpful and want us to succeed."

"I chose GTCC because of the benefits they offer and the suitable tuition fee. The professors and all the staff are really nice and hospitable. That would be the main reason why I love GTCC. Personally, I love being warmly welcomed. Professionally, the school helped me a lot in my previous semesters by transportation, advising and etc."

"GTCC became my choice for school because I thrive on two values: having close relationships in addition to emphasizing student success. The college offers smaller classrooms compared to huge lecture halls, which allow me to have the opportunity to build relationships with other students and professors without having to worry about not fitting in. GTCC is also just more than a school. It offers a well-rounded education that allows for students like me to engage with the community."

"I originally chose GTCC due to the impressive and inclusive variety of classes provided for every student, however, the school offers so much more beyond stellar academic options. My first impression of GTCC left me enthralled with the vast opportunities available to the student body. Another aspect of GTCC is the effort the school makes to encourage involvement in student life. GTCC is such a welcoming community, and I am so very happy to be a part of it. I have built countless friendships with my peers and my professors that I hope will last a lifetime."

"I chose GTCC because it was a school nearby that had dental hygiene, and the campus was cute in Jamestown. I met the coolest people and became friends with them. It led to an opportunity to be in the student ambassador group."

"GTCC has impacted my life greatly because it has helped me gain more knowledge, gain more life skills, and meet new people. I have gained experience from taking college classes and have learned time management skills and how to work well with others. Being enrolled at GTCC has allowed me to make good grades and have really great professors. It has allowed me to become a student ambassador and be able to work on campus and meet new people. It has also allowed me to be accepted into the medical assisting program and earn my degree."

"I choose GTCC to be a part of community college that reflects the diversity on campus and in co-curriculars. Additionally, I like the teaching method of professors as the class strength is smaller than a four-year university. GTCC has a positive impact on my life. Personally, the events and activities made me embrace new cultures as now I am president of ISA (International Student Association). The club has students from different regions of the world. Professionally, as a Student Ambassador, I am learning how to work in real-life scenarios."

"The location and degree is what brought me to GTCC. Not many community colleges in North Carolina offer a degree in theatre. Going to a community college allows me to save for my future university. The High Point campus is close by, so I was able to take dance classes at my home studio while still attending class and rehearsals at the college."

"GTCC has provided many opportunities for me to grow from basic electronics to improve. I have grown in my public speaking skills. I have become more familiar with the technical equipment I am expected to see in my career, and I have made plenty of friends along the way."
