Giving Opportunities

Every Gift is Important

There are many different ways to support GTCC. A gift of any size is welcome. Here are just a few ways your gift can help foster success:

  • $5 per month ($60 per year) helps a student purchase a nursing or culinary uniform.
  • $10 per month ($120 per year) helps a student attain a career readiness certificate and find a better job.
  • $25 per month ($300 per year) helps a student in crisis through the Food Pantry, Titan Link, or emergency student funds.
  • $30 per month ($360 per year) provides textbooks for three classes.
  • $50 per month ($600 per year) helps a student purchase supplies and course materials.
  • $75 per month ($900 per year) buys a laptop with software for a student.
  • $85 per month ($1,020 per year) provides funds for innovation and excellence through special initiatives supported by President’s Society donors.
  • $100 per month ($1,200 per year) provides a student with a scholarship for one semester.
  • $125 per month ($1,500 per year) gives students the opportunity to participate in a national competition.
  • $1,000 per month ($12,000 per year) helps 50 adult GED diploma students pursue a college degree and a better future!

A gift to the college is also a wonderful way to honor or memorialize a loved one or a person who made a difference at GTCC. We have several opportunities listed below that would allow you to do so.

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund supports key college priorities and provides GTCC with the ability to respond to changing needs. In general, gifts are in the $25 to $1,000 range. Gifts designated to "greatest needs" are most appreciated as they allow flexibility for emerging priorities. Donors may also provide annual scholarships in any amount that may be given one-time or renewed annually, generally in amounts of $500, $1,000, or more.

President’s Society

The President’s Society is the cornerstone of our giving programs. Among our most loyal donors, President’s Society members value GTCC’s commitment to provide life-long learning opportunities for the citizens of Guilford County. Unrestricted gifts of $1,000 or more made during the college’s fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) qualify you for annual membership. Gifts may be paid annually, semi-annually, quarterly or monthly. Both spouses are President’s Society members with a joint unrestricted gift of $1,000 or more within a fiscal year. Membership benefits include:

  • Insider communication from the college president and other key community members.
  • Invitations to exclusive President’s Society events, including annual reception.
  • Distinctive recognition in Foundation publications.

Titan Club

As the athletic booster club for GTCC, we’re dedicated to providing direct support to Guilford Tech's student-athletes, coaches, and related activities and programs.

Through your Titan Club membership and other fundraising activities, we’re able to provide supplementary funding to ensure that athletic opportunities help GTCC students be successful in both academics and athletics.

Endowments, Scholarships, & Named Funds

Endowed funds are donor-established investment accounts created to offer lasting financial support to GTCC students, faculty, departments and programs. Named endowments can recognize an individual or organization, area of study, or someone a donor wishes to honor in perpetuity. Endowed funds include:

Endowed Scholarships

Endowed scholarships are established at a minimum $25,000 gift level. The donor determines the criteria under which the scholarship is established and named.

Endowed Chairs

Endowed chairs are established at a minimum $50,000 gift level. Funds are used to attract and retain distinguished faculty.

Endowed Lectures

Endowed lectures are established at a minimum $50,000 gift level. Income from an endowed lecture may be used to bring renowned leaders and scholars to campus.

Endowed Awards

Endowed awards and prizes are established at a minimum $15,000 gift level. The donor determines the parameters under which the award is established and named.

Other Endowed Funds

All other types of endowed funds may be established at a minimum $15,000 gift level. Income from other types of endowments must be used to support and enhance the work of a specific department, program, project or discipline, and to support institutional priorities as determined by the college’s administration, faculty, and staff.

For more information about establishing an endowed fund or to make a gift in support of an existing fund, please contact the GTCC Foundation office at (336) 334-4822, ext. 50264.

Naming Opportunities

Naming opportunities offer the chance to recognize individuals and organizations who have committed to the success and growth of GTCC. Named gifts can also serve as an avenue for donors to pay tribute to their loved ones. The GTCC Foundation has many named-giving opportunities for you to choose from that connect you with the traditions of the college.

For more information about naming opportunities at one of Guilford Tech’s many campus locations, please contact the GTCC Foundation office at (336) 334-4822, ext. 50264.

Campus Beautification Fund

GTCC is fortunate to serve the community through several beautiful campuses. Gifts to GTCC’s Campus Beautification Fund provide funds for enhancements that state funds do not. The President’s Office works with Facility Services to determine projects and programs to fund. Examples include renewing flower beds, planting and pruning trees, creating educational walkways, and expanding green space. Funds can be used for stand-alone projects or partnered with other funds for larger, ongoing or new projects.

Student Emergency Fund

Many GTCC students need financial assistance that falls outside the realm of scholarships. Consider these facts about our students:

  • 55% are first-generation college students and half are over age 25
  • 40% have dependent children
  • 71% of single-parent households meet federal poverty guidelines

When students leave GTCC without graduating, 80% do so because of non-academic challenges such as finances, transportation, housing, childcare, and medical issues. The GTCC Foundation Student Emergency Fund helps these students receive the support they need to stay in school. Donations to the Student Emergency Fund are used to help students with:

  • School supplies or transportation, such as a bus pass
  • Emergency groceries
  • Needed textbooks or uniforms
  • Emergency rent/utilities payments
  • Childcare costs
