Mandatory Online Success Seminar

Every GTCC student interested in registering for one or more online courses MUST complete the Online Success Seminar. This is mandatory. The seminar is free and is located in Canvas.

MAC users: It is recommended that you use the Google Chrome browser to access Canvas and not Safari. You will have issues navigating your course with Safari.

Accessing the Online Success Seminar is easy:

On the dashboard, click the course "Online Success Seminar."

If you do not see the Online Success Seminar on your dashboard, use this link: https://gtcc.instructure.com/enroll/9JK9P9. Then click, Join this Course.

NOTE: A final score of 100% is required to register for online classes.

Seminar topics include but are not limited to:

  • Online Student Academic Integrity Requirements
  • Online Student Success Strategies
  • Online Program and Course Technical Requirements
  • Online Student Resources Available

After achieving the required 100% score, there may be a waiting period of up to 30 minutes before your student account is updated. After your record has been updated, you are welcome to register for your online course; however, GTCC students are highly encouraged to work with an academic advisor (not required for visiting students) to map out a program course completion plan once the online seminar is completed.

Also, the Online Success Seminar has a more in-depth readiness assessment that provides you with feedback about your preparedness. Based on your results, you will know where to focus your time and energy to be most prepared for online learning. 

You are most likely within the 30-minute window required to update your student account. You can also check Self-Service for academic holds.

If you have completed the Online Success Seminar since 2014, you do NOT need to take the seminar again. The seminar will remain available to you in Canvas for the duration of your time at GTCC, so you may access the information at any time.
