Whitney Tobatto, a Guilford Technical Community College graduate, has been appointed to the GTCC Board of Trustees.

Tobatto, who was a first-generation college graduate, earned an associate degree in applied science in business administration and management, before transferring to UNC-Greensboro where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Now, she is the human resource manager for Berico Fuels in Greensboro, N.C.

"I am deeply honored to serve on the GTCC Board of Trustees. My passion for community and developing others has been a guiding force in my life,” said Tobatto. “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of GTCC, an institution that was pivotal to my own."

Tobatto, a certified professional in human resources, collaborates with the N.C. Apprenticeship Program and the Guilford Apprenticeship Partners – two apprenticeship programs GTCC is involved in.

She is an active member of the VOICES committee for the Guilford County Family Justice Center and the N.C. Petroleum and Convenience Marketers’ Leading Women in Petroleum Committee.

“Whitney is a valuable addition to the college’s board of trustees. Having been a student here, she understands the student experience at GTCC and brings that valuable understanding to the board,” said GTCC President Anthony Clarke, Ph.D. “She’s also very active in our community and works with programs that intersect with the college.”

Tobatto, who joined Berico Fuels in 2021, oversees financial, personnel, and operational facets of the company.
