Construction, HVAC and other skilled trades will soon have training available in High Point

GTCC plans to renovate an old sock factory that has been used for storage. It will be made into four bays, and each will have a different training focus. GTCC leaders are in talks with area employers to see which ones would be most beneficial.

Guilford Technical Community College plans to open up a new skilled trade building on its campus. Right now, it’s known as the Johnson Building and serves as a storage space on campus. But in the coming weeks, it will be cleared out and ready for new life.

“There is no time to waste, so we will get started very, very soon,” said Dr. Anthony Clarke, the president at GTCC.
