Frequently Asked Questions About Applying For A Position With GTCC

You may only use the online application process to apply for jobs at GTCC. We will no longer accept paper applications, resumes, or cover letters after June 30, 2011. You can attach job specific resumes and documents to your online application for each job you apply to.

You can access our online application from any internet-connected computer. If you do not have a personal computer at home the following is a list of resources to access computers and other services:

  • Libraries: Visit Guilford County Public Library or Forsyth County Public Library for locations and information on how to access computers.
  • Guilford Technical Community College Library
  • Family or friends.
  • GTCC Human Resources Office, 601 E. Main Street, Jamestown, NC – Computer Kiosk only.

If you do not already have an email account, you may obtain a free one at sites such as: AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo. You must have a valid e-mail address to access the system. All notices such as application receipt and status of your application will be sent to your email account we will not send any paper correspondence.

You may access your account by clicking the “Job Openings” link on the GTCC Employment page. You may check the status of your applications, update your applications, create a new application, and see all the jobs you applied to.

To recall your password, use the “Forgot My Password” link on the Applicant Login page. The system will send your password to your email address on file. If you don’t receive an email, check your spam and junk mail boxes to see if the email was routed there.

Visit the Job Openings page for currently open jobs. We can only accept applications for positions for which we are recruiting.

Yes, you may apply for any open job for which you are qualified. You need only have one applicant account in order to apply for multiple jobs.

Yes, you can start your application, log off the system, then log back in and finish whenever convenient for you.

Yes, you must submit an online application and any other required application materials stated in the job posting.

Setup Methods

GTCC uses Cisco WebEx for external interviews. We will send you a link once the interview has been scheduled. When you click the link, your browser will prompt you to download and run the Cisco WebEx add-on.

Interview Day

Please verify that you have a stable working internet connection. If your bandwidth is below 1.5 Mbps or your network connection is having issues then performance will be degraded.
  • You will need a camera, microphone, and headphones or speakers connected to your computer. It is recommended that you use a headset microphone as this will minimize background noise.
  • Check that you are in a place with proper lighting to minimize glare and shadowing.
  • Click the provided link a few minutes before your scheduled interview time.
  • If prompted, download the Cisco WebEx add-on.
  • Once the Meeting Center window opens, start your video by clicking the camera icon beside your name in the Participants column on the right.
  • Connect your audio as well by clicking “Call Using Computer” in the Audio Connection box on the left.
  • In the Computer Audio Settings box, choose the appropriate devices you want to use for the interview and click “Ok”.
  • For Full-Screen mode, scroll over the video window and click the gray arrow that appears in the top right corner.
