Visiting Students

If you’re a college student from Guilford County who is home for the summer or taking some time away from your regular college, make GTCC your "college away from college" by enrolling in classes on one of our campuses or online. It’s a great way to make up or get ahead on your credit requirements, or avoid getting behind if circumstances keep you from your regular school.

Why consider taking classes at GTCC?

  • Course credits are transferable to any UNC-system school and many independent colleges in North Carolina
  • Affordable, low-cost option to earn credits
  • Wide range of programs in a variety of subjects
  • Flexible schedules, with day, evening, and online classes
  • Multiple campus locations: Jamestown, Greensboro, High Point, and Colfax

Ready to get started? Follow these steps to become a visiting student:

  1. Complete the NC Residency Determination Interview through CFNC.org to be eligible for in-state tuition – If you’re a student at a 4-year university or community college in North Carolina, you can use your CFNC.org account to simply log in to verify your residency.

  2. Apply for Admission using the CFNC.org website.

  3. Supply college transcripts if the course that you want to register for has prerequisites that you have already completed. You will need a Transcript Request Form. (Note: If you do not have previous college-level math and/or English, you will need to satisfy placement requirements to enroll in courses that have English or math prerequisites.)

  4. Activate your Titan Account. This is required of all GTCC students, even visiting students.

  5. Register for classes via WebAdvisor.

  6. Pay for classes by the indicated due date displayed on the Register for Classes page. Accepted forms of payment are at the Cashier's Office page.
