Jason Johnson has been named the director of financial aid at Guilford Technical Community College.
Johnson had served as GTCC’s assistant director of financial aid since 2010.
“I’m truly excited to continue serving GTCC in this new capacity as it allows me to build on years of experience supporting our students and community,” said Johnson. “GTCC’s mission to transform lives through education reflects my own commitment to servant leadership, collaboration, and student success.
“I look forward to advancing our financial aid team’s efforts to ensure every student has access to the resources they need to achieve their goals.”
The GTCC director of financial aid is responsible for the overall operation and services of the college’s financial aid department. This includes implementing, supervising and participating in the design, organization and evaluation of student services functions as they relate to assisting financial aid to students and veteran students in continuing their education.
“Jason has been an integral part of our financial aid operations for more than a decade, and his promotion to director is a natural progression. His knowledge, professionalism, and student-centered approach embody the values of GTCC,” GTCC President Anthony Clarke, Ph.D. “We are confident that under his leadership, our financial aid office will continue to expand its impact and provide critical support to students pursuing their educational dreams.”
Prior to joining GTCC, Johnson worked at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as a scholarship counselor from 2008 to 2009.
Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Advertising from Appalachian State University and a Master of Arts in Communication/Organization and Leadership from the University of Alabama.
