GTCC’s Titan Link receives donation from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

JAMESTOWN, N.C. (July 15, 2024) – Guilford Technical Community College’s Titan Link services recently received a $2,000 donation from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish GTCC students experiencing hunger. The Feeding the Hungry grant supports community feeding partners by helping neighbors increase access to healthy food and providing nutrition education to eliminate health risks for those experiencing food insecurity.

Titan Link provides resources and information that assists with non-academic challenges such as housing, transportation, food insecurity, childcare, and emergency loan/grant/scholarship application access for GTCC to students, staff, and faculty.

“The donated funds the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation will support Titan Link’s efforts to combat food insecurity through stocking the foods pantry on GTCC's three main campuses in Jamestown, High Point and Greensboro,” shared Natashia McEachern, director of Titan Link. “In addition, Titan Link will provide Food Lion grocery gift cards for GTCC students for additional food access.”

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $18.9 million in grants.
